On June 11th, the two-day 10th Arab-China Business Conference of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with more than 3,500 delegates from 26 countries attending the event. With the theme of “Collaborating for Prosperity”, this year’s conference focused on trade, finance, infrastructure, supply chain, energy, green industry, and other topics, to build consensus and enhance practical cooperation.
Minister of Foreign Affairs H.H. Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Secretary General of the League of Arab States Egypt H.E. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and Minister of Investment H.E Eng. Khalid Al Falih attended the opening ceremony of the conference and delivered keynote speeches, highly affirming the fruitful results of China-Arab cooperation in boosting the Belt and Road Initiative. Prince Faisal pointed out that “Saudi Arabia is steadily promoting Vision 2030 and China is implementing the Belt and Road Initiative, and there are synergies between the two countries. This event is an opportunity to build a shared future for China and Saudi Arabia so that both countries could move towards a new era that will benefit the people”.
Mr. Wang Shaofeng, Chairman of CSCEC ME, was invited to attend the opening ceremony and participated in the main forum discussion on “Building Resilience in Logistics, Supply Chain and Infrastructure” on June 12th. In his speech, Wang Shaofeng briefly introduced that China State Construction, as the world’s largest construction investment group, has built many local livelihood projects and landmark buildings in over ten Arab states, and has participated in as well as witnessed the development of win-win cooperation between Arab countries and China. He pointed out that we need to make concerted efforts in the two areas of “connectivity” and “production capacity cooperation” under the Belt and Road Initiative and the development of the supply chain and real economy can enhance the effectiveness of infrastructure construction, and the construction of infrastructure directly promotes the development of supply chain and real economy. These fields are complementary to each other. China State Construction will not only give full play to its comprehensive strength in infrastructure construction, investment, financing, and operation, and actively participate in the infrastructure construction in Arab countries, but also actively promote the landing of China’s advanced manufacturing industry in Arab countries, which directly promotes the development of local supply chain and the real economy.
The Arab-China Business Conference is an important institutional activity under the framework of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, and the 10th Arab-China Business Conference is the largest and most attended one, marking a new era in the history of economic and trade cooperation between China and Arab states.
