On March 16th, 2022, CSCEC ME was invited to the first Sustainable Urban Development Conference co-organized by Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) and Global Urban Development (GUD) in the Dubai Exhibition Center Hall. H.E Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Managing Director for the Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau as well as Member of the Higher Committee of Dubai Expo 2020 opened the conference. Other guests included the Executive Director of UN-Habitat, Ambassador of Switzerland to the UAE and Bahrain, Chairperson of EEG, Chairman and CEO of GUD, and the Commissioner General of Dubai Expo 2020. Mr. Mansour Faried, Chief Engineer of CSCEC ME and etc. also attended the conference.
On behalf of CSCEC ME, Mr. Mansour Faried delivered a speech which focused mainly on three parts: sustainable and affordable housing demand, how construction sector can rise up to the challenge, and additive manufacturing in construction.
The conference was themed as “The Future of Housing: Innovations for Developing Affordable and Sustainable Communities”, focusing on sustainable urban development from different perspectives. It contains 5 sessions as Integrating Technologies: Constructing Sustainable Abodes, Re-examining Policies: Inclusive Role of Leadership, Accelerating Progress: Propagation of Best Practices, Empowering People: Role of Financing, Altering Urban Designs: Path to Sustainable Communities. It aims at helping the world implement sustainable development goals and terms such as Paris Climate Agreement and so on, by developing and applying advanced technologies, sustainable innovations, climate resilience, circular economy etc.
Over a decade, CSCEC ME has endeavored to lead the construction industry through green innovations. Participation of Sustainable Urban Development Conference once again demonstrated the recognition on the CSCEC ME’s sustainability development from the society and industry.
