R1013/2D Improvement of Al Shindaga Corridor Phase 2D Project of CSCEC ME wins the Gold Winner (Large- & Mega- sized Projects) and Administration Facilities -Sabah Al-Salem University City Kuwait University (ADFA) is the Silver Winner (Large- & Mega- sized Projects).
R1013/2D Improvement of Al Shindaga Corridor Phase 2D Project by CSCEC Middle East is adjacent to the Infinity Bridge, connecting the new and old areas of Dubai. This project alleviated the regional traffic congestion, improved the travel convenience of the residents, and contributed to the high-quality development of the regional urban construction. This project is one of the largest and most difficult parts of the Al Shindagha Corridor Project. The bridge adopts an innovative green construction technology called “Short-Line Match Casting Technique for Precast Segmental Construction”, which saved more than 100 days of bridge erection time and won praise from all walks of life. The total length of the project is about 1.2 kilometers, including the construction of 24 viaducts with 12 lanes in both directions and a total of 1,901 precast segment. The project has won several International Safety Awards as well as awards from CSCEC.
ADFA is one of the key projects in the interface between China’s “Belt & Road” initiative and Kuwait’s “National Vision 2035”, covering a total area of 6 million square meters and providing teaching facilities for 40,000 university students. Among them, the management facillities include 7 buildings with special shapes, such as University Administration Building, Grand Mosque, Cultural Center, Ceremony Hall, Conference Center, Library and Visitor Center, which serve as the main gateway of the new campus and are the landmarks of the new campus of Kuwait University City.
