Announced on 12th May, 2016 by Kuwait Central Tenders Committee, China State Construction Engineering Corporation (Middle East) (L.L.C) (CSCEC ME in short) was awarded with the contract to construct the project of Construction, Completion and Operation and Maintenance for Administration Facilities-Sabah Al-Salem University City-Kuwait University with accepted contractual value of KD 174 Million, which is equivalent to US $ 580 Million.
The project is consisting of seven buildings with special & unique shape, such as Administration Building, Grand Mosque, Cultural Centre, Convocation Hall, Conference Centre, University Library and Visitor Centre and etc. The Administration Facilities, creatively designed and functionally served as the main gateway to the university city, are characterized by light lacy screens enveloping that resulted into a very harmonious interactive dramatic effect between the light and shadow. In addition, the flexible perimeter will further explore & expand the space of each facility outward and create a pleasant & tranquil gardenesque living & studying environment.
Sabah Al-Salem University City of Kuwait University is master planned as one of the largest campuses in the world with world class educational facilities equipped with most advanced teaching & learning resources. It is the second package of major building tenders secured by CSCEC ME.
The success of winning the said project is another breakthrough for CSCEC ME to further enhance and promote the implementation of its strategy of regionalized operation in the Middle East, which are mainly characterized and focused on the high-end projects, especially in the building and infrastructure sectors in the GCC at large.
