The new landmark headquarters of the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK), one of the projects constructed for eight years by the China State Construction Engineering Corporation LTD., was officially inaugurated on April 10th, 2017. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince of Kuwait, Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah together with key Cabinet’s members attended the grand opening ceremony.
This 235-meter tall modern office building takes the shape of a boat sail reminding onlookers and visitors of the national civilization in sailing. The total area of the site is 25,872 square meters and the tower includes eight gates to facilitate entrance and exit from all sides of the building. It has multi-storey car parking facility that accommodates 1,264 cars. The building comprises 35 highly-sophisticated meeting halls, a cafeteria, a theater, and a museum. It has seven training halls, a pressroom, four VIP meeting rooms, and an information center. The successful completion of the project symbolizes the combination of Kuwait’s financial prowess and cultural connotation.
The Central Bank of Kuwait Headquarters has been printed on the back of the latest issued Five Kuwaiti Dinar banknote, which fully demonstrates the significance of the project in Kuwait and has become one of the most shining advertising cards among CSCEC’s completed overseas projects. Meanwhile, the staffs of Kuwait Representative Office have stood firm in frontline for 8 years, made tremendous contributions in exploring and developing overseas market as well as played a pioneering role in implementation of “One Belt One Road” strategy.
