On September 25th, the seminar on the Chinese Enterprises’ Business Development in the MENA Region was held in the Embassy of PRC in Abu Dhabi. The seminar was chaired by Ambassador Chang Hua, meanwhile Mr. Zhang Yi, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government and Chairman of the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), was present and also delivered an important speech.
On behalf of CSCEC, Mr. Yu Tao, President & CEO of CSCEC ME introduced CSCEC’s overseas operations to Mr. Zhang and all other delegates, especially emphasized on the business activities in the Middle East. Mr. Yu expressed that CSCEC’s success in the Middle East could be summarized by four outstanding achievements. First of all, CSCEC ME made a significant breakthrough for promoting the branding of CSCEC; secondly, the Company has grown rapidly with a “corner overtaking” development pattern. Thirdly, the company had adjusted and diversified its business model and last but not least, the Company is transformed to be more localized and internationalized. Besides, Mr. Yu pointed out that the Company faced the problem of high financing cost related to project financing and investment in the Middle East. In response, Mr. Zhang called on the relevant authorities concerned should work together to solve the problem so as to implement the “One Belt, One Road” strategy.
The meeting was ended by the speech of Mr. Zhang. During the speech, he highlighted the essential meaning of the “One Belt, One Road” strategy and hopes that Chinese enterprises will further develop the business as well as deepen mutually beneficial corporation with countries in the MENA area.
Mme. Li Lingbing, the Chinese Consul-General in Dubai and representatives from more than twenty Chinese enterprises also attended the conference.
